Here’s a deeper dive on the 2025 USA Cricket membership data.

Here's a deeper dive on the 2025 USA Cricket membership data. It provides more staggering data highlighting the failed leadership of board chairman Venu Pisike and CEO Johnathan Atkeison, who have run the governing body into the ground.

Compared to USA Cricket's member data from 2023, 94 out of 116 member leagues (83%) have seen a decline in membership renewals, out of which a whopping 55 out of 116 member leagues (47%) had 100% of their members choose to not renew their membership. That's right, nearly half of USA Cricket member leagues from 2023 decided they don't want to have any association whatsoever anymore with USA Cricket.

Out of the other 39 leagues who did not completely abandon USA Cricket member status, 28 leagues saw at least 80% of their members refuse to renew their membership. So 83 out of 116 leagues (72%) from 2023 saw membership in USA Cricket drop by at least 80%, and in the majority of those cases it was a complete 100% refusal to stay a member of USA Cricket. It has meant that USA Cricket has lost at least 5,600 members since 2023.

Here are the biggest rejections of USA Cricket by percentage and volume:

Arizona Cricket Association – 100 down to 11 (-89%). Bay Area Cricket Association (CA) – 677 down to 0 (-100%). CASO Cricket League (Illinois) – 93 down to 1 (-99%). Capital District CA of NY – 151 down to 0 (-100%). Colorado Cricket League – 171 down to 26 (-85%). Commonwealth Cricket League (NY) – 606 down to 4 (-99%). Cricket Atlanta – 217 down to 0 (-100%). Florida Cricket Conference – 165 down to 6 (-97%). Houston Cricket League – 77 down to 0 (-100%). Houston T20 Premier League – 164 down to 0 (-100%). Kerala Cricket League (NY) – 144 down to 0 (-100%). Major Cricket League (Missouri) – 201 down to 4 (-98%). Major Tennis Cricket League (Missouri) – 68 down to 0 (-100%). Major Women Cricket League (Missouri) – 29 down to 1 (-97%). Massachusetts State Cricket League – 38 down to 3 (-92%). Midwest Cricket League (Kansas) – 120 down to 1 (-99%). Midwest Cricket Tourney (OH/KY/IN) – 144 down to 0 (-100%). Millennium Cricket League (NJ) – 425 down to 1 (-99%). Music City Cricket League (Tennessee) – 90 down to 0 (-100%). NY Bangladeshi Cricket League – 182 down to 0 (-100%). NY Tennis Ball Cricket League – 359 down to 0 (-100%). North Texas Cricket Association – 482 down to 31 (-94%). North West Cricket League (OR/WA) – 221 down to 20 (-91%). Redmond Cricket Conference (WA) – 85 down to 0 (-100%). San Antonio Cricket Association – 43 down to 0 (-100%). South Florida Premier Cricket League – 129 down to 0 (-100%). Tampa (FL) Cricket League – 132 down to 0 (-100%). Triangle Cricket League (NC) – 1153 down to 5 (-99%).

In just those 27 leagues spread across 19 states, USA Cricket has lost a staggering 5,204 members. Not included in that is the next biggest drop by volume from the Washington Cricket League, which had a 37% drop in membership to USA Cricket from 813 down to 517 members.

And yet, USA Cricket incredulously produced a net gain in registered members in 2025 compared 2023. How? Because of a political battle royale being waged by current/former/suspended board members Venu Pisike, Kuljit Singh-Nijjar, Arjun Gona, Atul Rai and Avinash Gaje in which they're getting all hands on deck in their leagues to register and vote.

Atlanta Cricket League (Pisike's League) – 956 up to 1776 (+85%). Dallas Cricket League (Gona's League) – 624 up to 1955 (+213%). Dallas Leather Cricket League (Kuljit's League) – 547 up to 2024 (+270%). New Jersey Softball League (Gaje's League) – 7 up to 2743 (+2918%). Southern California Cricket Association (Rai's League) – 508 up to 671 (+32%).

Then there are two wildcards: NCCA and MichCA.

Northern California Cricket Association – 765 up to 1230 (+61%). Michigan Cricket Association – 498 up to 688 (+38%).

It means that even though there are as many as 138 leagues with current or former members registered to USA Cricket, 86% (11,087 members) of voting power is concentrated to just 7 leagues for the 2025 USA Cricket election (if it ever happens, because after all, it was supposed to be the 2023 election which spilled over into 2024 and then 2025, which has less than 3 months to go…). Meanwhile, North Carolina's Triangle Cricket League, which represented approximately 10% of all eligible member voters in the last election, is almost non-existent in the current USA Cricket membership.

Again, more than 5,600 members have abandoned USA Cricket since the last election, with 55 leagues completely rejecting any association with USA Cricket entirely. Shame on the failed leadership of USA Cricket.
