This series comes hot on the heels of the SA20, which ended on January 25 as Sunrisers Eastern Cape won their third final in four years. West Indies white-ball captain Shai Hope was part of the summit clash, ending on the losing side. Members of the West Indies team were also spotted in attendance during the final.

South Africa won the first T20I comfortably, chasing down 174 with nine wickets in hand before Quinton de Kock’s magnificent century led them to victory in the second match as well.
