Hey! I am a rising senior in high school and am working on my undergraduate application portfolio currently and wanted to get some advice. I was wondering what things to include in my portfolio, what to expect for admissions, and what colleges I should try to apply for (In the US). I have been self studying architecture for the past four-ish years; I have read multiple books (Space Form and Order D.K Ching, Towards a New Architecture Corbusier, Complexity and Contradiction in Architecture Venturi, ect.), I have been learning the softwares, sketching, designing my own projects. I feel the two renderings from two of my recent project showcase my abilities. (I have sketches, more renderings, but want to go thru and redo some elevations and floorpans to make them look better; I am happy to add more images if people are interested). The first one is a flexible community center / pavilion that uses column to mimic trees. The slope of the roof line is supposed to push visitors into the park it is located on. The second image is from a home project that explores the rhythm and modularity of the grid. But really any advice is fully welcome! submitted by /u/Old_Department341 |
